In a dense and gloomy forest, a dark river flows. Its slow current winds around a solitary mountain as if keeping watch.
At the base of the mountain, the river slips into a half-submerged cave. Only visible when the mist briefly lifts, the entrance seems to pulse with a rhythm foreign to the natural world. The water seeps inside, as if the river itself were searching for something in the depths.
Lately, animals in the forest have begun to vanish. Others, more dangerous, have been spotted lurking near the water. Rumors say something is waking within the cave—something that should have remained undisturbed.
The heroes have been sent by the people of a nearby village to investigate the cause of the changes in local wildlife, which have disrupted hunting. They must follow the river through the shadowed forest, pass through the fog-covered paths, and descend into the mountain.
