Marge Simpson Meets a Drag Queen

“Werking Mom” (November 18, 2018)

Yes, The Simpsons did a drag episode, and you might be interested to know that the idea did not originate with “Hey, let’s do one about RuPaul’s Drag Race.” In fact, co-writer Carolyn Omine provided some background info, including how the surprising success of drag queens in the Tupperware sales market ultimately resulted in both Marg and Homer donning drag, and we say this is a great example of how latter-day Simpsons can bend with the times. Our blue duck has become a swan!

This actually sounds cool, but I looked and only found Nirvana mashed up with every artist aside from Sylvester.

I named my tuxedo cat after Jasper Beardsley, he’s Jaspurr Tuxly.

This is an extremely long shot but, since Sylvester got mentioned and I know we've got some obscure music nerds here, I'm going to take it. When mashups got really popular 20-25 years ago, there was this one that used Sylvester's vocal from "You Make Me Feel Mighty Real" layered on Nirvana's "You Know You're Right" and, despite what you just read, I swear it was great. I can't recall the artist's name, but I don't think it was any of the more prominent creators from that era. Sylvester's vocals killed, even in that sonic environment.
