After the smashing success of ThunderCats and the middling success of SilverHawks, you’d think Rankin/Bass would have learned which creative decisions make a hit. In fact, they learned the opposite, because TigerSharks is a wet mess. It’s entertaining to discuss, for sure, but the world-building seems haphazard enough that this show didn’t end up doing the thing it was supposed to do in the first place, which is to sell toys. We’ll explain, but is it gay? Well, there are skin-tight wetsuits, at the very least.
