Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

Comments

Wonka has always been a little scary...kids love it and are freaked out about it, too.

~ ChelZee ~

Hope you watch Young Frankenstein someday 🤞🙂

Old Timey movies feel good. Gotta check out the outsiders

kevin staab

I am so old that I watched this in theaters after smoking illegal weed in the parking lot. That tunnel scene was a trip.

Susan B

I know that one quite well. Although Stir Crazy is fun as well. : ]

Madmanmarz1981

Because there’s no replacing Gene Wilder. He showed sadness and pain behind the crazy laughter.

Susan B

Gene Wilder was a treasure, in this and in Young Frankenstein. Nobody did crazy better than Gene.

Susan B

Where do you get your chains? They look cool i need me one

Pablo Escobar

So glad you did this one. You've been hitting a lot of gems lately.

Jim

As the guy who personally requested both of these on discord for the last year or so i just want to say thanks for watching these 2 classics. I know the original one has a tendency to put the new one to shame but they're both great movies in their own right. Again thank you for listening to your fans and being who you are Leo. Time to sit back and chill for a few hours.

shawnn Dixon

I was a dark chocolate with almonds snickers guy before I stopped eating sugar. Hershey's is a classic, for sure a top pick but It just isn't as filling as a Snickers bar. Cheers!!

James Therian

You were right. This movie does hit different and has all the feel good vibes you'd expect. That said, I haven't seen Charlie & the Chocolate factory yet, but from the trailers, I just don't see it having the same impact.

D-Matrix

Back when I smoked, I had to be chewing a PB Twix too because for some reason it tasted better when I combined all 3 flavors. Sadly it lost it's effect months later but I still prefer any PB & Chocolate combo

D-Matrix

There's a reason r/ihategrandpajoe exists. One thing I'll note, the whole walking thing. Whether a movie or play/musical. Nobody wants to see the learning to walk again process. Gotta keep moving with the story. Just me tho

Spooky

Haha that was great

Benjamin Herrera

No one EVER knows about that movie!!!!

Favorite chocolate bar is a Reese’s. I grew up watching this movie it’s the reason my sweet tooth is so bad now. I watched it a lot had it on vhs. Even now I randomly get “cheer up Charlie” stuck in my head lol. Might as well watch the new wonka movie. I thought it was really cute. And no Charlie and the chocolate factory is just a modern day remake and wonka that came out last year is a prequel to the original when wonka was younger

Kathryn Brooks

Sammy Davis Jr. sang The Candy Man Song it was pretty big for a while back in the day 😁💚

Sabrena S

HOT ROD!!

Chris Mosley

My fav chocolate would be almond roca.

KingMoor

Where does Leo take requests?

Travysaurus Rex

Banger movie, Again!! Ever since I was young Ive always gave Grandpa Joe the side eye, mans bed ridden for years and Jumps up as soon as he sees that ticket, bit sus 😆💀

SpicyRikers

Same man, 27 but still grew up with this one despite its age, I really like willy wonka more in this one in my own opinion! Gene wilder seems to have a warm charm to him that a chocolate Mascot should have lol

SpicyRikers

W movie you should check out Charlie and the chocolate factory with Johnny Depp great movie

TG

It makes me feel all nostalgic watching this movie, I’m only 23 but damn I watched this movie many times a year each year growing up. Loved it and prefer it to the remake!

Reeann Craig

Lol I'm just messing around 😅

Benjamin Herrera

You ok?

Nicky A

wow

Psy mama

this has to be the song he's talking about haha i forgot about it myself until he brought it up https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UGiO-hWSrY

Fatal N Felony

React to Mouse Hunt

Emanuel Gavia

Wtf do you mean "I got a golden Ticket" Grandpa Joe? You didn't get shit, Charlie found the ticket and took that old crook instead of his Momma who deserved? Fraud collecting government assistance pretending he can't walk and help out with the bills but come to Chocolate, oh he can dance around fine and dandy, plus where did he get the Chocolate bar he gave to Charlie? He had to have walked his happy ass to the store for that. And to top of off he's a thief who encouraged his Grandson to Steal! He gets called out on his bullshit by Willy himself and instead of taking responsibility, he plans to Screw Wonka even more by helping Slugworth -.- Grandpa Joe is one of the all time Movie Bad Guys

Benjamin Herrera

Silver Streak (1976) with Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder is super underrated.

Flukemarm

I always love when you do a musical fr

Riley Bone

white chocolate macadamia nut cookies for me

Fatal N Felony

Fun fact: The ones in charge of making the movie told Gene Wilder not to fake an injury and then roll over and be fine. Gene said if he can't do that then he doesn't do the movie. Straight up refused, so they let him do it.

Ezra Peterson

Mmh Almond Joy is my favorite 😍 dope! We all know who the real Villain is.. Grandpa Joe 👴

Benjamin Herrera

I had to check and make sure this was and is the only version of this movie you should watch. The remake is horrendous

Randy Olson

This version is better than the remake. The remake is good, don't get me wrong, but the orginal is superior.

Michael Tuffin

The scene where Willy Wonka walks out with a cane and a limp, and then does a somersault was not scripted. Gene Wilder came up with the idea and no one told the children it was going to happen. Their expressions and reactions that you commented on were 100% genuine. The idea was that, from that point on, no one would know if Willy Wonka was being serious or pulling your leg, and it worked perfectly!

DarnedStingray8

this a hall of fame type flick `, )

cMagic

I am so proud/glad that you watched this! While I love the Tim Burton version, THIS is so beautiful to me. I remember the first time I watched this and have loved it since.

Anna Cofield

Simply, thank you. This made my day :)

clays283

This was my favorite movie growing up. Probably the most nostalgic film in my eyes. The trippy riverboat scene is my favorite, whereas the mom singing “Cheer Up, Charlie” is my least favorite scene. It’s hard to cram this into one genre.

TJ Harrington

loved this

STRYKERER

On another note, the office is killing it on YT! 20K+ views in a day

Drip Drop

This makes me can't wait for a certain south park episode

Brandon H

@Kluneberg some of his subtitle movies are his best reactions. Personally im not going to be picky, i'll be happy for either one

Anti(Adam)

To answer your question at the end, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) is a remake of this movie. It is still worth watching though, then you compare the modern version with this version and they're different enough to not feel like you're watching the same film twice and it is good. People often say it's bad because they have rose tinted nostalgia goggles for the first. After that you should also watch Wonka (2023), it acts as an origin for Willy Wonka, not directly to either of the other films, but it acts on its own as well.

Steve Matthews

Good stuff doing this one first!

BlakedAsFuh

We had an entire room full of chocolate for a few years as my uncle was using our annexe as storage for his snack business and that is how I found out about Raspberry Ruffles which have been my favourite chocolate bar ever since ☺️.

Cayley

no english dub otherwise he's just reading and not reacting

Kluneberg

This is perfect 💗.

Cayley

Now watching this as an adult I’m seeing so much that I missed. Wonka sense of humor lol. He’s pretty funny. Has that sarcastic side. And from what I saw he didn’t lie. And the final test. When Charlie gave that candy back. I think he was looking for the kid who was not going to sell his secrets. Which comes in the mystery man. It was all a test to see who would be the best kid to take on his legacy. Now that I am seeing all this this has a great message. And that whole boat seen. As a child I was so scared of that scene. Scared the crap out of me lol. When watching this with you I was watching them get on it I was like uh oh there it is 😂😂 can’t wait for the next :)

Jessica

The French Connection (1971) with Gene Hackman

Flukemarm

Thas wassup yo shout out Australia 💯🦘

MrTHIZZ916

I had seen this when it first came out. Watched it also with my kids. But watching as an adult, I can't help but think how easy it was for grampa Joe to walk. If I was that woman who took care of him for years, I would be pissed! Lol

Danna

💀💀💀

MrTHIZZ916

Oh WOW Leo. Movie adaptation of one of my favourite childhood books by Ronald Dhal. Love from 🇬🇧

The spoiled girls dad looks so familiar. He looks like the same actor in the Beatles movie help. I had to look it up and it’s the same actor. I just now realized it’s the same guy. Sorry for the weird random thought

Jessica

Check out Gene Wilder with Richard Pryor in See no evil, Hear no Evil (1989) sometime it's hilarious bro. Have a good day homie

dmh killah

Ok, we watching Willy, this should be fun, hi 👋 handsome you looking great, I only seen the new one with Johnny Depp , thank you Leo appreciate it 𝓛𝓸𝓿𝓮 𝓨𝓸𝓾 💕🫶🏻💕🐐

Rhoda J

Hi Leo ❤️.

Cayley

If you want to see a GREAT musical you should watch Sweeney Todd! Johnny Depp, a handful of the Harry Potter cast, BORAT, it's an amazing movie and very popular!

Violet

Wonka 2023 was pretty good.

theOutcast

Hahah I got you. I knew you would say great 😂 yes this is the one you should start with. Such a great classic. I loved this one and the Jonny depp one. I have never seen the Timothee chalamet (spelling) one yet though. Probably because this one and the Jonny depp one is just amazing. I don’t know how the other one could top it. But chalamet is a great actor.

Jessica

This was my favorite movie for years, until it got replaced by Silence of the Lambs. I appreciate you and I can't wait for season 2 of The Office!!

Violet

Old school. I like it. Edit: my favorite chocolate is Reese's. Reese's is to candy what bacon is to everything else.

DVoid Comics

On the day I’m tripping!!? You shouldn’t have😭🙌

Jeffery Bezos

Ah, the memories... too bad the remake one couldn't measure up, nothing against Johnny Depp

Edgar Gonzalez

Classic!🍫 you still plan to get to Suicide Squad 2021 at some point? You also got 3 more Fast and Furious movies left

MajorMayhem

Good! It's even the original. Big part of every gen Xer's childhood.

Greg

Nice bro this is top 10 favorite movies for me. It’s infinitely rewatchable, gene wilder is the goat when it comes to comedies. Cheers man and thanks for doing this you the goat as well.
