Quick update

I've made a lot of progress this week. The artist now has all the story material needed to complete Part 2. He's currently working on three scenes in Saturday. I have no regrets not releasing Friday on it's own... I wouldn't have been able to get him everything for Saturday to work on by now.
I still have a lot to do for programming/writing/editing, but I'm moving along. One of the scenes in Friday was the largest script for a scene so far in the story, so I'm glad to be past it and can focus on the rest of the scenes.
As I've mentioned before, this update will be heavy on Marvin/Jake/Kendra/Anna, and there will be a new character. David, Chris, and Hank aren't involved much in this update.
One thing I had done after releasing the last update was to go through the entire story again. It's easy to treat each update as its own entity where I feel like I have to add enough content to make it entertaining for you all, but I'm cognizant of making the entire story flow when connecting all the updates, so that's why I wanted to go back and see how the story flows. In doing so, there were two things I've edited out of the story:
1- The inclusion of Renaldo, the co-worker of David's. I had planned to use him in part 3, but in the interest of not dragging this story on for years, I have to limit the amount of characters featured... he was one that I've decided to take off the board. If at a future date I change my mind, I can always re-insert him in to the script.
2- The lengthy description of the time when Anna and David first started dating and they went to the party where Anna played beer pong with a group of guys. I'd love to include a flashback scene one day, but for now, it seemed to bloat the story. Maybe I can release the scene as additional content, as I do think it's an interesting mini-story that shines some light on Anna, David, and their dynamic... and there is an interesting thing that nearly happened that Anna doesn't even remember. But for now, it just seemed to bloat the story, so I trimmed it down to be very little in the next update.
I'm not going to give a timeline for a release right now, but I'm definitely making good progress of late. I'm starting to realize it's pointless to get people's hopes up by giving a projected release date if there's a chance I can't make said date. While the vast majority understand and can accept reasonable delays, there's a vocal minority who send me hate mail or post on F95 that I'm "milking" supporters, which is ridiculous if you knew me. So I'm going to refrain from the whole release date projection until I'm pretty rock solid on it.
I still stand by 1-3 months that you can expect updates. For this one, I'm releasing Fri and part of Sat, which combined has more scenes than any other update I've done to date, so naturally it has taken longer, in addition to time-consuming life events.
And as I've stated before, I'd like to take a bit of time once Part 2 is done to give a road map of sorts - with no spoilers - on what to expect for Part 3. This may help clarify choices you make throughout the story.

A much as I'm proverbally kicking my self in the butt right now for what I'm about to say, I know this would cause delays but for such a relevant scene that points to a serious chink in Anna's armour, I think you have to do it. As much as we would like to get to the more juicy bits of your story, this is certianly part of the story and should be included. The near miss story element could be presented after one of Kendra's chats with Anna at the coffee shop, which spurs Kendra to find out more about what happened that night. She finds someone from that party with a good memory of that night and relates, through the flashback what happened, and learns of the near miss anna had, that anna herself does not remember.

Give her some alcohol... put her around men who are interested in her... get her juices flowing... what happens? Well, we get a taste of that in the party scene. While she doesn't cheat on David, she has some temptations. These temptations are resurfacing in APM, so... it's definitely relevant.

2023-08-07 15:20:47 +0000 UTCI think the beer pong scene could further strengthen the narrative behind Anna's infidelity. The bonus content has given us an insight into who Anna was in the past and this scene could demonstrate how Anna's old (or perhaps true) self has previously resurfaced. The "near miss" you mention - which Anna does not remember - has certainly piqued my interest. I think the inclusion of this scene could help further explain Anna's ultimate fall from grace and make it more believable, perhaps, than going from the perfect wife to whatever you have planned. I suppose you have to decide whether Anna and David have indeed had the "perfect marriage" up until now or if cracks were showing before the beginning of this story. With regards to Renaldo, I think it's fair to say that people would be in favour of more characters/content. You've previously explained the reason why this content might be cut (not wanting the story to drag on), which I think is fair enough.

Ultimately I’d love a flashback scene to show everything from that night, but I want the artist to focus on progressing story right now rather than more buildup or backstory.

2023-08-06 15:29:48 +0000 UTCHello Adolfo. We’ll see how it shakes out. I can always re-insert script at any time. I’m mainly thinking about new readers when I go back and adjust things. It felt long-winded with those two things in APM. But that doesn’t meant they don’t exist and can’t be included at some point. Renaldo is not BBC but he is a minority ethnicity, and I like that he brings an interracial element to story. I may still put him back on the board, but we’ll see.

Every time someone is eliminated it pains me (another missed BBC opportunity for Anna). Admittedly, Renaldo is a character that to introduce him as Annna's sexual partner would require a lot of scripting and additional scenes, but David's conversation with Renaldo explains things regarding David's (difficult) relationship with his co-workers and David's way of being. As for the beer pong story, it hints at Anna's naiveté and a side of Chris, he doesn't mind sharing. Finally, the vast majority of f95zone fans support the game wholeheartedly. Only the usual few assholes who want an update every week and the main character fucking 10 bouncers on the second update complain. Please don't pay any attention to them, whatever you do they will complain.

Kinda disappointed that you've to remove those two content because more the character the merrier. As for that pin pong scene, now you've raised the curiosity about what Anna doesn't remember. You should not worry about bloating if they provide hot exposition. There's no one here, I can guess, who get bored with more content. The choice for cutting if it's because of our consideration. It's misplaced. Eagerly waiting for the update !
