With Todos clap vs Mahito last episode the way I interpret it was that because Mahito was pushing his claw things closed and todo crossed his arms to stop the attack, it meant todo was pushing his arms outward to hold open mahitos claws. So in a split second he just stopped forcing them apart and essentially let mahito force his hands together which makes Todos hands slam into each other and thus simultaneously swaps him via the resulting clap. Todo stops the attack and lets mahito force his hands together really fast.
