Many people were upset when Vinland Saga S2 came out and thought that the direct shift between the action-packed S1 and the S2 focused on character-development was disappointing. I've seen so many people call it Farmland Saga in a very derogatory way. Many people also stopped watching the animé because of that and I've even seen comments saying that they were super disappointing about Thorfinn's character's development, from a "warrior" to a farmer. And yes, these people are the same fanatics that love Dark Sasuke and Dark Eren because, you know, they are daaaaark. Needless to say that these people do not do well with very deep and meaningful stories with intricate characters.

2024-09-07 13:58:18 +0000 UTC@Catin - Ouh yes, Vagabond !!! But I feel like if they ever make an animé about Vagabond, it won't be as good as the manga... There are so many scenes with nothing but images, no one talking and so on and I feel like an animé studio might not do the manga justice and it would be a bummer to ruin one of the best manga out there (it's actually my favorite manga along with Kingdom). I fear the Tokyo Ghoul treatment (or Promised Neverland, or Seven Deadly Sins, or Tower of God treatment). We need great art, great music, great VAs and great animation for a potential Vagabond series. I love Vinland Saga but despite the great scenes and beautiful colors provided by Mappa, I still think Mappa didn't do the manga justice with the very rough drawings that looked rushed. The story is perfect ; the animé isn't in my opinion. I know that Mappa were working on several big animés at the same time, but that's not really a reason to rush Vinland Saga. Which makes me worried for the next season : Vinland Saga deserves an animation studio that pours their everything into such a well-written story. I'm not saying everything is bad; not at all, actually there were some amazing shots throughout this season, but I do believe that they could have done better for such a story. The OST and the VAs are absolutely amazing, though.

This is exactly why I am so happy you are reacting to this show because a lot of people is sleeping on it and the theme of the show that the author is trying to tell us. I agree with you abot AoT, it's one of the best shows ever made in terms of the plot, twists and the dark world of AoT with character building. But in my honest opinion as of right now, Vinland Saga is certified GOAT. Both the show and the OST is just on another level. Pray to god they animate Vagabond (and perhaps Berserk) then we have top three Seinen shows we all could enjoy. I love Thorfinn and Einar, best bros ever and his words just cuts deep about having no enemies, because that is the truth. Next episode is for sure up there with this one and I can't wait!! BTW: That scene with Canute ordering the waves to stop is actually a real thing that happened according to Henry of Huntingdon who was English historian in the 12th century, but with some added things such as rebellion against god. In the story of King Canute and the tide he did that to prove that secular power is nothing compared to the supreme power of god. I really love that the author is adding all these details.

So I remember this time last year we were watching AOT because I am on Vacation and I would wake up every morning and watch one of your reaction while drinking my coffee. I'm so stoked I get to do it again! P.s I looked back because I remember it was epic when I was here last year. You were reacting to the best part of Season 3. 3x16 to 3x18!! Good tines.
