This episode is so important. We barely got to know Gardar yet we feel his pain. What wars and raids do to you and the ones you love. Sometimes you believe you know what you're fighting for until it's too late. He had everything he needed at home. "For honor and wealth.." Thank you Makoto Yukimura for tihs amazing story.

When I first watched this arc, I was confused because it was so different than the story writing were previously following but I have now watched this show, more times than I can count, and this episode is such a tragedy that was handled beautifully. When you first started watching, I told you that the piano is also a main character. That damn piano. Also, it confused me why you thought that snake wouldn't kill Gardar but later in the discussion you explained it. I see it as seeing both sides of the situation. He did kill snakes men and it was a pride thing for Snake but also he explained that just because they are "bad" men, they are still people too. This whole story you can see now, that Thorfinn can understand the importance of 2 people that were destroyed by war and slavery from the choices made and the consequences that came of that. The Einar is Hjalti thing was funny but i think that them showing Hjalti in the after life is their way of saying that they are now in the afterlife together. Also, this is the first time that I have seen a reactor see the flashback in the beginning for the first pass. Awesome attention to detail. Anyways, this show is rough and it can really put you in a terrible headspace. Yet, this is peak writing and I'm stoked for you to continue but just take some deep breaths

The E1 opening was basically just a preview for the seasons theme kinda. The guy with the tattoo is just a random guy hitting iron in Gardar's village, which is what Gardar went to fight for. Someone correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure I’m right.
