2023-09-07 22:39:13 +0000 UTCSwanii the first time mikasa caught bert off guard I think it's because Reiner snapped and spilled the beans and Bert didn't know wtf was happening. In 2x11 Bert had Eren tied on his back. When mikasa went to kill him he was able to dodge Mikasa while carrying Eren. He's actually extremely skilled but he lacked confidence. He was totally blindsided by Mikasa, parried her, then 360 roundhoused her across the roof and deflects her blade and dodges her. He's always been that nice but we don't see it because like Reiner said he usually leaves it to other people and he's a shy and insecure guy

2023-09-07 10:52:52 +0000 UTCAs you've seen, each titan shifter has multiple attributes/abilities that are technically unique to that titan. But as we saw back in S3P1, it's possible for titan shifters to "gain" other titan powers by ingesting what you can assume to be the spinal fluid of other titan shifters. Hence why Eren could manifest the crystal hardening after ingesting the armour bottle. Some titans are more suited to manifesting those extra attributes than others, as well as depending on the user - the abilities all take energy to use, so the shifter's control and stamina have to be taken into account. So far we've seen/confirmed the following abilities: Female Titan: Crystal hardening + Can call pure titans Armoured Titan: Incredible durability for both titan and human form + transfer (shield) consciousness from harm In my opinion this ability makes sense considering Reiner's split personality was basically a way of protecting his mind Colossal Titan: Steam blast + Able to control the level of damage when turning We've seen Bertholdt summon his titan multiple times, with varying levels of accompanying destruction - from relatively little initial destruction to this explosive nuke level of destruction. He went high up before transforming because as we saw in 2x06, falling from a height increases the shockwave. Royal/Founding Titan: Scream (ability to control titans) + Alter memories
