I'm happy to inform you that I finally found a direction I'm happy with for this set! I modeled some fun items I can't wait to put into game and see how everything comes together. Until then I bring to you this screenshot which features the built-in wall. I can't seem to leave the built-in furniture alone. :D I just loved the idea of the big panels with the insetted arch.
I planned these to be usable in more than one way. They come as separate objects from the shelf/dresser and those are the same size and can be slotted into each frame. This way you can drag them together or switch them up. I want to make one more variation so you can create really different combinations. But I can imagine they could look good empty as well with an armchair for example. I'll add some wall decoration slots as well so you can put up pictures. And you can use the dresser and shelf alone too, you don't have to put them into the frames.
