Episode 40 Update 3
Added 2020-05-30 22:42:43 +0000 UTCHey guys! I just wanted to give you an update on Episode 40. Earlier on I mentioned that I was aiming for a May release date for Episode 40. Unfortunately that's not going to be the case. Episode 40 has a lot more motion than any of the other episodes, and while the new techniques i'm using for editing vastly increase the overall production quality, they also dramatically increase the render times.
To help give some context on how this works, let's say I need a moving background scene that's about 5 seconds long. 1 second of footage is comprised of 30 pictures, or frames. to render one of these frames takes about 10 minutes. That means in order to get the 5 second background scene rendered it would take about 25 hours of render time. As you can imagine, with multiple of these scenes, the render time only gets longer.
I have most of the main moving background elements rendered. But there are still a lot of pieces that need to come together for the completion of the episode. That being said, i'm going to try and have everything come together for some time in June provided there's no delays.
I'm going to be releasing the Card Rewards for this month shortly. In anticipation for Episode 40, they're going to be 3 new cards that will debut in Episode 40!
I've also been informed by Patreon that they're being required to add a "sales tax" on top of pledges that have certain benefits. To try and mitigate the effects on you guys, I may have to reword some of the rewards on the tiers, however the rewards themselves won't change.
