Matara Kan here with some news and updates on the Mint and Matara’s Summer Special podcast.
Back in December ‘24, I shipped out the month 4 postcards FROM Canada, unfortunately through Canada Post, which started striking that same week.
Thankfully, this Friday my roommates will be driving to the USA and will reship Month 4 whilst they’re there - surpassing postage strikes!
Now, this leaves Month 5 & 6. Mint & I have had a chat, and after a lot of consideration we have decided that if it’s possible, we will refund everyone who subscribed for Months 5 & 6 through Patreon. We believe we've been much too slow on sending the postcards out and we truly apologize to everyone for the disappointment. It's been more work than either of us anticipated and now with the added stress of Canada Post delays, we believe refunding is the best option!
It's taking a little bit of time, but I am in contact with Patreon to try and refund everyone - I'll keep ya’ll posted as soon as I learn more.

2025-01-24 03:50:25 +0000 UTCHey I had an idea with the postcards that I figured was worth trying to share. If you are both still feeling beat up about the last 2 post cards. Why not instead just make 2 digital postcards and sign them with like a Wacom tablet (you could write their account names if you want them to feel more personal). Im sure some folks would use them as wallpapers or even print them. I don't personally think its necessary to refund, although I appreciate the clarity and attempted gesture. I appreciate all the effort you both put into the cards. The logistics of sending that many cards is not as easy feat. Thank you both again so very much for all your hard work!

I understand logistics issues - I've waited for a lot of preorders during the time when Japan post rejected deliveries to Europe for over a year. But I guess for you there is still a shipping between you two and time,planning and motivation needed for making it. In the end, I am fine without the last two postcards. On the other hand I have a issue with refunding - you delivered everything else except the postcards. Keep my money please! PS: If you refund it I will have to send it to you as a donation anyway and it will take more fees than you keeping them...

They've said numerous times that the demand for tier 3 was unexpected so it's probably more a physical limitation than a timely one. Also, either keep my money or donate it somewhere. I supported the podcast to support you two, the postcards were just a really nice bonus.

I joined because I wanted to support you two and I have no problem waiting for the remaining postcards or going without.If the Canada Post issue is causing too much stress and you don't like the idea of not giving something for the higher tier, perhaps a digital version would work instead.

The bonuses like the postcards were, as far as I'm concerned, a cherry on top. I don't mind not receiving the postcards. I hope you reconsider the refund because as far as I'm concerned my donations were simply for you guys doing the podcast. That's what donations are supposed to be for. A Creator does something and you choose to support it. I appreciate all the hard work that both of you have done and I understand that circumstances got in the way. I'm just happy that you two were able to get together and do the podcast. Thank you for all the hard work you've both done.

The nice takeaway with Postcard 4 is that we get to relive a bit of summer after all this time. It's almost like a time capsule! You get to reminisce and remember the podcast.
