Hayley's last day at Glorious Pizza! And Gloria's as well, it's a good day. The requests are now live, Requests Stream #3 Results! | Patreon check them out! The final week of the year for me will be a posting vacation. I will round up some art that hasn't been published yet and release that as a new year's treat.

June 2029 | Hayley is Celebrating her Last Day Page 1

Gloria Bloom hugs her daughter at the end of her final day as the owner of ‘Glorious Pizza’. “Sweetie…” She says. “You’re making me so proud by deciding to take over. It was always your choice, you still don’t have to if you don’t want to-”

“Mom, honest. I’m glad to have the opportunity. This place has been your baby for so long, I was wondering more if I was the right person to keep it going.”

“Of course you are!” Gloria says. Parting, she wipes a tear away and begins speaking to the whole assembled staff of Glorious Pizza. “Thank yall, honest, from the bottom of my heart for all the work you’ve put in for years. Blossom has the experience and drive to run this place as well, if not better than I have for the last four decades. She’s my daughter after all, and when she wasn’t stopping by after high school or college to work a shift she was helping me with cutlery roll-ups at home. Blossom, sweetheart, you’ll do great.”

Blossom leads a round of applause from the staff to thank her mother and acknowledges the task ahead. “I might stumble, momma, but I’ll know where to turn if I need advice. Not for a while though, you’re due for a much needed rest!” Busboys and waitresses of Glorious pizza affirm with a hearty ‘hear hear’ and Blossom continues. “Everyone, I hope I live up to your expectations and keep this place running as perfectly as it was under my wonderful mother. See you all tomorrow, except for one rather large helping hand I’ve had during this transition…”

Blossom turns to Hayley and thanks her friend for returning to the job when called to. Hayley, happy to extend a favor and jobless at the time, did what she felt was right. Saying as much, Blossom concludes her speech. “-And for that, we thank you.”

Hayley nods in reply. “I value our friendship, Blossom. That’s why I’m hanging up the apron again, I want us to keep being friends without having to call you ‘Boss’.”

Heading home, Roger and Hayley muse about the future now that Hayley is once again unemployed. “I can take on more commissions if we need the money, but the hours I’m putting in at my graphic design firm are actually covering most of our bases. You don’t need to rush.” Roger says.

“Don’t let me be a burden, Roger. Daisy and I have plans to do some job searching together. You let me handle a few more chores around the house while I find something new to do, hopefully something this time that I… stick with for a while.”
