Come one and all to bikini season 2027! That trip I told you all about is an hour’s drive to a nearby lake featuring a local roadside attraction. Lake Escape is a manmade sandbar dressed up to feel like a trip to a deserted island, palm trees and all! It’s not easy getting to a sandy beach these days, but this makes for a fun ferry ride and few hours of swimming. Beats, Daisy and my mother are here to soak up some rays and grab a bite to eat when we get back from our excursion.

I’d share my latest numbers but I didn’t really grow this month. Seems like that latest growth spurt slowed down a bit and ended with me at a bit less than 10’10”. Just because I can’t currently weigh myself doesn’t mean the pier wasn’t creaking though, those extra scales are coming in next week so I’ll give you all a better update then. By the way, it turns out my kid sister is keeping her own little journal too. It’s endearing I suppose… Though I’m a little jealous that it looks better than my own! Sounds like some of you may have seen it. Can’t say I want to swap to making comic panels though, it’s too much work.

Anyway, this is what a vacation looks like. Spreading out on some towels with my family, digging my toes in the sand while I get to bask in the sun, I’m thankful to get out here. Daisy is showing off her sandcastle skills and don’t worry about us, we’ve all applied sunblock. You might have noticed my swimsuit used to be a towel, it’s Beatrice’s amateur handiwork. We can only occasionally afford Gracelyn’s services so Beats took it upon herself to learn her own sewing skills. I can’t tell you all enough how much I appreciate her.

Mother brought a book to enjoy by the beach and the rest of us enjoyed splashing around in the lake. I’m kneeling in this shot by the way. Daisy couldn’t help but giggle every time I stood, laughing as she said it’s like a waterfall was crashing down above her. I had to walk pretty far out to stand in water up to my neck, but when I did I got to do some actual swimming. Queue the whale jokes, har-har, but honestly I never feel as normal as when I’m just weightless and swimming in the water. Finding a deep enough pool to do so is hard enough, finding something wide like this lake where I can really open up is rarer still. Oh, remind me to bring my underwater camera next time! That’ll make a great shot.

So summer is in full swing and as you can see, I’m enjoying it. Beatrice hasn’t lost weight that I can tell but I’d be lying if I didn’t say she feels different in my arms. Less soft, more firm? She’s the latest addition to Manny’s gym roster, Darlene and Mom being the only close friends I know who haven’t signed up yet. We’ll see what we can do~ Have a great July!
