The Mimic, this monster is a shape-shifter, its natural form being that of an amorphous blob of gooey flesh. The origins of such creatures are shrouded in mystery, but many believe the mimic to be a product of sorcery.
Mimics are essentially animals that exist solely to eat and survive. Usually solitary hunters, they frequently make their lairs in abandoned structures such as ancient ruins and underground dungeons. Mimics tend to remain in one spot for lengthy periods of time, using their shape-changing abilities to take on the form of innocuous items of furniture, most notably treasure chests or doors.
A mimic will remain in place until a potential meal comes along. Once touched, the creature will spring to life, still retaining the appearance of whatever object it turned into, but now sporting a gruesome mouth filled with teeth or limbs that it will use to fight and immobilize prey.
This Mimic however inside takes the form of an adorable girl. Shes watched adventurers all her life explore dungeons yet never fall for her trick. She’s grown to have a great love for adventurers and adventuring and hopes one day some adventurer will open her open. Rather than eat them she will hope to join them. Truly rather than a trick a great prize awaits in this chest.
Ok so this one I like to think is one of my clever ones. As what’s one of the most unlucky things you can find in a dungeon adventure ? A trap/mimic chest. And who is the most unlucky adventurer in teyvat ? Bennett. So mimic chest Bennett was born.
