While Chihaya would win regardless of whether we’re talking depth or time, I think she doesn’t want to kill Jun, just get her to step off. It’s much easier to return from twenty meters than it is from one hundred, and also much easier to carry a drowned body that shorter distance. It’s a little bit of a shame that she isn’t trying to force her down into a shipwreck or something, but again, easier to surface that way. This way Chihaya can focus on her breathhold and be very sure that Jun has blacked out before surfacing herself. We wouldn’t want any confusion as to the winner, would we?

This scene has already been tense - Jun enters the shop when it is closed before confronting and sharply criticizing Eri, shoves her into Ken, Chihaya has her (pre-existing) misunderstanding of Ken and Eri's relationship from the last story compounded by Jun's comments and now things are rapidly headed downhill. Being the adults here (and at the center of this misunderstanding), can Eri and Ken clear things up effectively? If they can't stop this challenge from going forward, can they at least mediate whatever happens next and avoid something serious coming out of this (e.g. death or serious injury)? Plenty of places all this can go.

Back in AGVsG, there were several panels where Chihaya was walking around in street clothes, which left her midriff exposed and was plain to see she was wearing her one piece underneath (I guess instead of underwear?). Also, Tori-Ike was something the cousins only barely made it through, so she’s definitely trying to drown Jun. I wonder if she bothers bringing her back up afterward (pretty dark place, there)? I hope we actually get SOMETHING underwater here, and soon.
