Some mementos from the time Miura won the Tezuka Cultural Prize
Added 2024-02-11 13:06:50 +0000 UTCKentarou Miura was awarded the Prize for Excellence at the 6th edition of the Osamu Tezuka Cultural Prize, which took place on May 28, 2002. As is customary, the people present at the ceremony were handed out an enamel pin emblazoned with one of Tezuka's famous characters. For the 6th edition it was Uran, Atom's little sister. Here is the speech Miura gave at the ceremony.
To celebrate that award as well as the milestone of Berserk selling over 15 million copies, a party was organized by Hakusensha the following week, on June 6, to which selected people where invited. To mark the occasion, attendants to that party received a small package as a gift: a velvet pouch with a little golem figure inside. The figure was manufactured by Art of War.
