Given those conditions, I repeated to myself that I should expect (it to be) “very rough”, “really rough”. However, whenever we met, he offered me illustrations done in his spare time and they were full of his thorough principles towards his work. Those principles drove him to dig into ascertaining the set-up as well, and they were just “like” Miura-nii.

In doing so, the “heat” (excitement) even ignited me, a small-time writer. “This part should be like this, I think.” ; “For the enemy who has this kind of ability, this image…” : I remember I worked repeatedly on creating the “story and characters”, which hindered me from engaging in recreative activities or other work, using as many calories as needed for that work as if it had already started.

For Miura-nii, who was even jeered at (by fans) to “work more” because of his irregular serialization, there was neither negotiation nor scamping the work at all when it comes to Berserk. In this case, his work that he had been progressing on at the highest speed was supplemented by this.

Miura-nii spent his precious break time on “creating something”, which was just his personality, and made something with us, which we wanted to.

Animation projects don’t come into the world easily, for various reasons. Many of them have been sleeping in folders without seeing the light of day.

Since a space was allowed (for me), I featured (the illustrations) here with the glad consent of director SATO Junichi so that you can feel a trace of the drawings of Miura-nii to some extent.

Beyond the Internet garbage, I would guess that he received some letters from irate fans. That's probably par for the course as soon as you gain popularity.

Ugh. I was really hoping Miura-sensei was spared knowing about some of his "fans" and what they thought of his irregular releases. I'm glad he continued to do his own thing until the very end. I'm grateful to Hoshi-san for sharing what he drew for them.
