Dragon Slayer paper knives
Added 2021-10-18 21:27:40 +0000 UTCToday the organisers of the Great Berserk Exhibition revealed a new bonus available for the attendees of the Osaka edition. It's a Dragon Slayer paper knife and... it looks pretty good! I happen to have two Dragon Slayer paper knives already, but I'll take a third, no problem. 😏
The first one is actually a paper weight and paper knife combo, now how cool is that? The Dragon Slayer slots into the paper weight when you don't use it. It was released by Movic around the time of the first anime series, in 1997, and was priced 3500 yen ($30).
The second one is much more recent. It was produced under the "Berserk Film Partners" label to go with the movie trilogy that was released in 2012 and 2013. It was sold for 2500 yen ($22). Another paper knife based on Griffith's saber was also available.
This new one, when you substract the price of the ticket, has a value of about 3200 yen ($28). Looking at the pictures, I think it looks higher quality than the older products, so that's not a bad price.
Little anecdote about the Movic one: the glue that holds the two halves of the "base" has worn off over the years and in recent times many of them have begun to fall apart. The good news is it's pretty easy to fix if you've got some strong glue lying around.
