2022-11-24 19:56:53 +0000 UTCThis is great! I adore Ways of Seeing and I was so excited to see you all apply that analysis to these films! I enjoyed the Handmaiden but the way he changed the ending felt off to me (even aside from the male-gazey sex scene, though after watching this, I think that's definitely part of it). The Handmaiden ending feels very "girl power" if you know what I mean. And it makes me miss the heartbreak and betrayal and reconciliation of the original story.
