Beach shoot! New video Friday!
Added 2021-07-24 09:19:12 +0000 UTCWent to the beach this week to swim and thought, "why not shoot some footage too?" My new video is about the Earthsea books and their relationship to the history of fantasy literature as the first books about a school for wizards...and how and why I found a great deal of joy in them this last year after certain...other authors began to disappoint! So the beach seemed like a very good place to talk about this particular world!
And that should be Italy in the far distance there, if you were wondering!
I swam hard and fast that day...my legs still hurt...I'm starting to wonder if in my mid-thirties if not getting any exercise for months at a time and then suddenly getting loads to the point where my body breaks is not the healthiest of lifestyles...

If you only read the quartet then you've even got a couple more books to read, Tales from Earthsea and The Other Wind! :D Yeah that terrible miniseries is a nightmare, I talk about it in this video a little bit!

2021-07-24 16:14:28 +0000 UTCOooh Earthsea! I read the quartet ages ago and barely remember a thing other than enjoying it, I should really give it another read. Though I did watch that god-awful Hallmark miniseries where everyone was white and really not smart.

Went out for a ride around Milwaukee, and... the lakefront was so beautiful and it was so nice to have a bike that I probably logged 15 miles that evening. After having not ridden for half my life. That was pain. These days all my exercise seems to be mowing, but since I've a corner lot with a fair incline to the sidewalk, I think it counts. Looking forward to the vid!
