I've shaved my head, I've been overweight for most of my adult life, I'm Black, I'm dwarfishly short. So sorry. I'm not trying to be dismissive. I'm trying to dig in -- all of our intersections really drive us and make us. Trans folk definitely have different issues than us cis folks, but it's as if we want folks to carry though these issues. If I'm not ashamed of my fat, what's wrong with me? If we aren't ashamed of 'masculine' traits when we're women or nonbinary, what's wrong with us? I'm also thinking about your statement about 'ugliness' being a freeing thing sometimes. A defiant thing that we can swing back and forth to between our days of wanting to be beautiful. It's so hard to love ourselves. It's fascinating that sometimes the thing we want to 'kill' about ourselves is what makes us unique and tells a singular story with our look.
