The Castaway's fishing rod, a silent witness to survival, is a motley assemblage of makeshift construction. A piece of driftwood, rough and bleached by salt, serves as the main body. Its natural curvature, twisted by the waves, provides a rudimentary flexibility. At its tip, a crude eyelet, fashioned from a twisted piece of rusty metal, guides the line.
