Behind-the-Scenes Feb 2023 Week 2: Part 1

Hi Deluxe everyone!

Here's some new WIPs and some extras for this week.

1. POV Poste Handholding: For Valentine's Weekend comign up, I wanted a change of pace so I decided to do some cute and wholesome artwork for Poste. For her expression I wanted to get something that looks genuinely happy but also slightly embarassed. Looking at it as I'm typing this, I think I'll change the mouth. I'll have an updated WIP with colors on Wednesday. This will be done for the weekend.

2. Inko X AllMight Comic Page 3: The next part of the Inko comic. I got the sketches and lines done, now for the colors and backgrounds. I'll have another WIP for Wednesday. This will also be done for this weekend.

3. OC Doodles: Some random OC doodles I did as warm ups. I don't know what this CrayonShinChan/Chibi looking doodles are but I kind of like them. I don't think I'll do anything with these, they're just doodles after all, but I wanted to share them with you.

4. Hand Doodles: Same deal as above, just some random warm up doodles. These were all done from imagination (no reference) just so I could see what I could do. There are some good hands in there and some that could have used some reference haha. A tip for artists: Try to group some fingers together, it makes the hand a lot easier to draw. You'll see I keep the ring and middle fingers grouped together in a lot of these. I also commonly group the pointer, middle, and ring fingers in my drawings to keep the pinky separated. I think keeping at least one finger separated can add a lot of life to even basic hand poses (like in the last panel of the Inko comic where the pointer fingers are slightly lifted away from the rest).

5. Del and Poste animation: An updated look at the next animation. I added some colors and cleaned up some lines, but there's still work to do. I'm using blender's compositing features to postprocess this. I added a little blur and some visual noise to reduce the pure digital look. The colors still need some work. If this isn't finished by this week, I'll have another WIP on Sunday, but I would like to finish this before the weekend. I'll keep you updated.
