Making a song from scratch using only a recording of a microwave.

This month is a demonstration of how we normally work on a song from start to finish, although we'd usually spend more time on it.

We've attached the microwave sample so you can have a go if you want. This will also be an upcoming discord challenge.

We've also attached the final piece if you want to listen to it.

Derp! Thank you! At the end of this you say you'd spend weeks working on the rest of the tune if it was for a release. I wonder what that part of the process looks like...

Hey guys, I'm having trouble finding where to get the one note pony m4l device. Any clue if its available somewhere or if there's another device like it?

Jerimiah Sullivan

So damn good ! Loving this community !

Connor Crowe

lol around 23:50-24:00 sounds like Harry Potter from the bouncy notes :)

Chase Kalis

Like everyone else I would love to see more of this. Not necessarily a song from one sample but just full song workflows etc... Very much enjoyed. thanks again!

Luke Perry

Hey will! also sorry to be a pain where are you getting one note pony from I can’t seem to find it. It’s not max for live midi filter is it ?

Luke Perry

That's where we got bouncy notes from https://www.ableton.com/en/packs/inspired-nature/

KOAN Sound

True but if I'm jumping in and out of midi keyboard mode and forget to hit M first as well I get myself in trouble lol

Kyle Beller

I totally agree! Actually toggling automation mode is automapped to the "a" key so you don't necessarily need to map it if you don't want to use a different key

Azaleh

Fantastic

One thing tho- the version of Bouncynotes I'm finding seems to be an older or different version. Can we get a link to the one used in the video plz?

Kyle Beller

One of the most informative and inspiring pieces of educational media I've seen in my many years of living online. Mad to remind myself every 20 minutes of the original source material, and crazy how much of it was done with the ambient noise around the actual door closing itself. Even after being brainwrecked by that for 2 hours, to be blasted with something like "btw, you can keymap toggling automation mode" was ridiculous. I know this kind of content must be a serious undertaking, but now that all your fervent viewers are up to speed with the singular topics I'd love to see more of this kind of implementation and workflow video. Bravo, massively thankful to be a patron <3

Kyle Beller

YOOOOOOO- WELL. FUCKING. DONE, GUY.

Kyle Beller

Bro this is magic

Willis Brindley
