The research and technology system has been implemented
The research screen can only be accessed by save files that have ownership over at least one territory
The research screen is a foggy, occluded plane that is slowly revealed by research ‘lanterns,’ which ‘light up’ the fog. New research can be unlocked if you have the prerequisite research or if it is illuminated by the glow of another research lantern.
Research costs mainly Knowledge, but also some Magic and Gold depending on which tree the research lantern lies on.
Research gives you both statistical bonuses and unlocks buildings which can be built in owned territories. These buildings provide bonuses, but also occasionally allow for the creation of special soldiers at the territory the structure was built at.
Known Bugs
Some of the later technologies have unique interactions which are not fully implemented.
Save files from v0.6.24 and before will likely no longer function properly
Some UI elements may show through the fog. This will be fixed in a future build.
If you use the ‘straighttofreeplay’ cheat-code, the research button will not immediately appear on the radial menu. Saving and reloading the game will fix this issue.

Hoo, boy. Come back to check this out after leaving it for a long time. But it seems this will take a longer time still. My god, there are so many bugs. Best of luck to the devs, will check this out again on and off in the future.
