Royalty is linked to the land, and from it they draw power. For this reason, Royalty has powers beyond their subjects, in the form of magic and ability, provided they do not allow their abilities to rust through sloth and vice. So it is that the people of a land can declare a royal (for whatever reason) to be an empowered champion. When the Yeti people were reduced to a single, solitary girl, who nevertheless did all in her power to help those around her, the tribes of Whiteout Summit came together to declare her their princess. The sole royal of their lonely northern kingdom. Some did this out of genuine regret for what had happened to her family, others in gratitude and awe of her good heart, and no few clans out of bitter, pragmatic, understanding that the Yetis were vital to the survival of the clans. Or (at the very least) their survival if they did not wish to change their ways, and so went out of their way to buy the last remaining Yeti as long a life as possible to serve and protect them, and the system they had invested so much into.
