Minicomics Box. Does this sound cool?

Hello friends,

I am not sure if this is the most effective way to go about this, as I am not sure if all patrons check each of my updates too granularly, I expect most subscribers are just mostly happy to look out for their new minicomics each month, which is fine by me as it's the main thing I offer, but I have an idea percolating for a project and would love to know if it sounds interesting to anyone...

As I'm making new minis every month and mailing them out, in addition to feeling immense gratitude that there are folks out there interested enough in my work to pay for a subscription, I wonder to myself, what do people do with the comics once they receive them? Minis don't sit well on shelves, do they go into a longbox, do they get scattered about the house, do people throw them away once they've been read???

I had a thought that a nice thing I could potentially offer is a custom made Mike Dawson Minicomics Box, something that could easily store a stack of 'zines and minis, and might look nice sitting on a bookshelf. I personally picked up the beautiful comics box Craig Thompson and Uncivilized Books produced when they were serializing Ginseng Roots, and think it's a really cool way to solve the problem of what the heck to do with so many minis.

Here's Craig's box, so you can see how cool it is. I would absolutely do my best to produce something even halfway as well designed:

So, I guess my poll question is, if I produced something like this that would hold a stack of my minis, would you want one?

The most likely way I'd make it happen is through a crowdfunder. I could offer the box on its own, I think, fairly economically. I think for a campaign I'd offer tiers where people could choose to buy the box filled with minis for a higher price point, but you folks here wouldn't need that because you already are getting lots of my comics.

Any feedback at all is appreciated. I am super gun-shy about launching a crowdfunding campaign of any kind, as I feel more and more that attempting to operate these kinds of things online is getting harder and harder, but I think it's potentially a cool idea.

Would you support a Kickstarter or other type of crowdfunding campaign if I launched one?

Excellent! I've been developing my thoughts about this, and am headed in the direction of trying to make something that feels made by me, but can also be used for anyone's 'zine and minicomic collection

I would love something like this! All of my minis are in random piles throughout my house... which is not ideal

Excellent! I'm gathering information now to find out what may be possible :)

If it will be possible to ship this to Europe for a halfway reasonable price, I'm in.
