May 'Zine of the Month: A Part, Apart

Hello friends,

This post is to announce the May's comic of the Month, A Part, Apart, which is subtitled, The Hidden Dominion of Geordie James companion 'zine #1. This will be either 16 or 20 pages, full-color, digest sized. A good meaty comic, I think!

My newest middle-grade graphic novel will be published in May of 2026, so it's nice, one year out from that date, to be putting together the first of what I think will be at least two, possibly three companion 'zines. I am still working on my "elevator pitch" for The Hidden Dominion... so this may not be how I'm describing the book a year from now, but I am currently describing it as a story about an anxious 12 year old, finding his place in world's both natural and digital, as well as... sixth grade. I dunno, I have twelve months to improve on that. For the time being let me just state, if you like my comics at all, I think you will like this book. It's written for a middle-grade audience, but I think readers of every age will take something from it.

This 'zine will include original sketchbook diaries, a brand new eight-page cartoon essay, as well as the short diary comic that sparked the idea for the new book. This was a piece that I wrote back in 2015, not thinking it would lead to anything at the time, but all the elements and ingredients were there for what has become The Hidden Dominion of Geordie James.

Physical copies of the 'zine will ship out to print members towards the end of May, a PDF will be distributed to all digital and print members shortly after.
