"whose fault?"
A comic featured in the Wuff! 'zine, that I hope you've already had a chance to read already.
I mentioned previously, but will post about again here, I plan on participating in Hourly Comics Day this year. I'll post my Hourlies on my Bluesky account (@mikedawson.bsky.social) and, for now, my Instagram (@mikedawwwson). Follow me on both if you aren't already.
A print edition of my Hourly Comics will follow, to send out to all physical and digital members of the Monthly 'Zine Club in February.
I say "for now" regarding Instagram, because I really, really want to get off that platform. I'm trying to figure out how to approach being on social media in general. I don't have an alternate outlet where I can reach the same audience as IG, but I hate giving my "content" away to them for free. I like Bluesky better, but the difference I get in terms of "engagement" with my comics on the two platforms is miles apart. I posted this comic on both right before starting this blog entry, and in those ten minutes it received three likes on Bluesky and 55 on Instagram. Now, what can I buy with a "like"? Not much, but it's a bit of a dilemma for me as an artist who has enjoyed and benefited from building and engaging with an audience one place, now feeling like I can't keep going the same way anymore. I dunno, I dunno. If it's anything like what happened with twitter, the app will "quit" on me just as much as I quit on it, as it stops working as well as it once did and the userbase also drifts away. It's just how things seem to be going these days...
