Your Questions Answered Pt. 1 - August 2018 [BTS 14]

Thank you to everyone so much for the questions submitted! I am answering every one.

There will be another video next week with the other half of the questions so don't worry. But if your question wasn't answered in either, that means I might be dedicating an entire video to that topic.

Questions answered in this video:

Your Questions Answered Pt. 1 - August 2018 [BTS 14]

Exactly! Unless you're going to be a career gamer, it can quickly hold you back from more long-lasting achievements.

That video games one is so true. It's very easy to be addicted to something that is designed to stimulate your reward system, and the sad part about games is those rewards are artificial and generally meaningless, but designed to keep you hooked since you're given relatively small, very achievable challenges (that can be done at the convenience of your fingertips). That's easier than one big challenge for the same reward feeling. It's a shame how some games intentionally design their platform to manipulate this feeling and keep people hooked in (so they spend more money, watch more ads, whatever) - some even hire psychologists for that purpose. It's something I've struggled with and to some extent still do. I think a good way to determine whether something you're doing that you find rewarding is actually beneficial is to think whether in 3 years time you're going to regret how you spent your time today, or if what you're doing is going to add anything to your character in 3 years time. I generally found games to just add frustration (both in game itself, and frustration at myself for wasting time on it). Total abstinence seems to be my only solution to avoiding falling into the same trap again.

Stay tuned for a fire breathing dragon haha

So interesting, we were just talking about you spinning and breathing fire on Instagram and then I finally get to this video where you talk about it. I would love to see you breathing fire in an upcoming video! Haha, and The Script is great! I really like their song "Hall of Fame!"

Brandon Moore

Totally can do that!

Hey mike. Since you are prepping for your next trip, will you walk us through what is in your luggage?

I've never spoken about this before! Great one

Hahaha I see you've researched the other Mike Coreys too 😂

That's a great one too. I definitely do.

Hahaha love this

Lora. Such a good question. I've dealt with it a lot actually. I'll make sure to tackle this during the next Q&A

Great Question ;)

You are a well travelled and loved travel adventure Vlogger. The best on YouTube today. Do you have a buckets list? What are the importance of having one?

Hey! Love all the content and ideas. Just wondering how you deal with loneliness when you are traveling? I find that I am frequently thinking about home, but when I am at home I want to be exploring.

If you can select one person from history and have them truthfully answer one Question, who would you select and what is the question?

Do you have one favorite photo made during one of your travels? If yes, can you add that to your downloadable screensavers?

Mike Corey... you’re an MMA fighter, ESPN sportscaster, author, real estate agent from Tulsa and marine biologist turned adventure travel vlogger/filmmaker. If you could change your name today, what name would you choose for yourself?

Here is my first question for September. I’m sure you have a lot of photos and videos that you haven’t released yet. How do you store and keep them safe? The cloud? Hard drives? How many back ups do you keep? What’s the best kind/brand? Do they travel with you? Have you ever lost a file?

Hahaha there's no question I hate to answer besides "Can you do a headspin?" When someone finds out I breakdance.

Ahhh ok! I'm editing them now :)

Ah yes! There's actually a cemetery in Manila I tried REALLY hard to film in that people live inside, but all have to leave on Nov. 1st for this holiday as everyone comes in to spend it with their loved ones. I wonder if it's something the Spanish do too? It would make for a cool tat wouldn't it!

Yes! What's your favourite song?

Thank you for taking time answering our questions. You are the best! You are a very effective, entertaining and funny. I can watch you talk for hours! Though you’ve talked about liking ‘the script.’I don’t think you ever used one because you always speak from your heart and very open. Lots of things I learned today from your video. 1. You consider Both Papaitan and soup no. 5 the shit. 2. I need to get my cousins password and see the Dark Tourist on Netflix. 3. Dragons are real because you can breath fire!4. I will try to think positive like you from now on and be curious. They don’t always kill the cat. Güey! sorry for being nosey with questions this month. I have more for next but before that, Can you answer this one? What question do you HATE to answer?

Thanks for the buko-halo clip. I don’t know if you’ve seen kulas’ video but he cut it off right as you were about to dig in. When asked about it, he said to ask you for the video lol

Thanks for answering some of our questions. About the poi - I think I watched an old video of yours on YouTube and part of your self intro, you mentioned poi. And yes, there is a growing community of "flow" artists here in the Philippines. I took a "class" with my sister in poi spinning a few years back. Upon "graduation", we were made to do our "first burn" and sometimes given a fire name. 😊 You also mentioned about the Mexican's relationship with their departed love ones which I think is similar to Filipinos. We celebrate "Undas" or "Todos Los Santos" on November 1 (commonly referred to as "All Saint's Day" while November 2 is "All Soul's Day"). It's common for families to spend the day at the cemetery by their departed love one's grave as a way of honoring and remembering them. It's one of the more enduring Filipino tradition. Anyway, looking forward to the 2nd part of your Q&A. 👍 the logo - should be a cool tatt idea. 😀

I like the Script!!
