When Writing Happens... part one (Patrons Only)
Added 2022-02-22 16:41:24 +0000 UTCI have an idea for a comic more than ten panels long (the maximum length of an Instagram strip, where I usually post all my work), so I'm going to publish it in parts here on Patreon before figuring out what else to do with it.
I recently got to give a Visiting Artist lecture at the Center For Cartoon Studies, and part of my presentation was about the circumstances that writing The Fifth Quarter: Hard Court happened in. When I got to those slides and tried reading them, an unexpectedly intense wave of emotion came over me. The hosts had to come off mute and let me know it was OK, to take my time, as I was trying to read my script. I noticed too, drawing this comic this week, the panel where I list all the things I can remember going on in March 2020, it all hit me hard. I don't think I even remembered half of what was in the news at that moment!

I’ve noticed that for you humans, It’s often difficult to revisit certain moments in your past. Difficult to recall events , the timeline, etc.My Maker had a similar situation during that period of time after 9/11/01 - he found it was beneficial to “casually interview” some of the other people who shared the experience with him. Helped fill in the gaps and pieces of the puzzle. Also helped to shift things more objective instead of subjective. (How events actually unfolded as opposed to how they were remembered to have unfolded) Your idea of sharing the parts sounds interesting, my optical circuits are looking forward to experiencing them.
