I actually hope they don't go the movie route and instead do a shortened 8-10 episode season so nothing gets cut from the manga. OF course with the Anime only ending they did, it will be interesting how they introduce the next cosplay, though I'm sure they will work it out. I'm sure we'll some continuation at some point though, the show is too popular for it not get such treatment I feel.

2025-09-22 05:31:17 +0000 UTCAnother very well done episode. CloverWorks made a max effort to finish the season off. But, it feels like there is no plan in place at this time for a continuation. The last 2 ½ minutes were anime original and the original content would have left off with a cliffhanger. The farewells from the cast,the post credit end card of death tells me the best to hope for is a wait and see. I hope with all my heart I am wrong. S1 ended without any plan to continue as well, but I had hoped that they were committed to completing the story. On the other hand, if they had written in a confession and answer, while perhaps more satisfying, that would have put the final nail in the coffin. So, they are leaving the door unlocked for some kind of continuation. It may just be that the decision on what form that will take is TBD. After all the tease of another cosplay is present in the ED. With some reasonable edits, the remaining kanon from the serialization could be done in a longer than normal movie. There is also the factor that Fukuda-sensei has indicated an intent to produce some additional content and any decision could be pending that. YouTuber SlamAnime just dropped a wonderful essay about MDUD, making many good points about all of the deep field of characters. ‘How Do You Show Someone You Love Them?’ is spoiler free and worth the watch.
