It's basically when animators go off-model and "smear" the subject on in-between frames to sort of accentuate their motion. I'm not an animation expert though so there might be a better term to refer to what you're talking about. - That Opera O clip you mentioned is from the movie. It's a pseudo-sequel to Road to the Top and has some Opera O content, though she's not the main focus

2025-09-03 17:29:39 +0000 UTCFrom what I understand the real Admire Vega was retired after this race due to a severe leg injury, yet in the anime her leg pain appears to be gone at the end of this race. When we see her talking to her sister in the dreamscape and she says she will "Bear the fate for the both of us", that is her taking her fated injury away from her, so she can continue to run in this world.
