His quirk is kind of explained later, but it's one of those "isn't exactly what it appears to be " quirks. The main series hinted at this in s1 when they mentioned people could, for instance think they have a water creation quirk but actually turn moisture in the air to water. This is actually how most quirk awakenings happen. Bakugou doesn't create explosions, his sweat is explosive like TNT. He gets stronger knowing how to use that. So yeah, I think Captain gets explained better in cour 2.
