Another difference if you pay attention. In the OP of this episode when Umi is walking along the beach, she stops before she gets under the letters for Key. In all the other OP's she continues walking. I have a theory that they are all dead and Umi is the only one living and has somehow created all of this in her mind, or is stuck in a time loop. Of course I could be completely wrong but this is a Key property so nothing is off the table.
