But there is one misconception, that Lady Anshi favors Shishou. It was the former Emperor's mother that favored him, not Anshi. I want to talk about food. In the East certain foods are considered "invigorating", as they said. I think it is very rich foods. I am not sure of the exact effect it's supposed to have, but it's like strength, or stimulating. If I had to theorize, I think these foods are probably those considered to have yang energy, which is associated with light, masculinity, activity, etc. I guess that avoiding them would be similar to avoiding aphrodisiacs for Jinshi, but as you can see, it's not like women can't eat them.
