Heroes 2 Housewives: Nightwing
Added 2025-09-30 23:10:57 +0000 UTCAn interesting one in the series. Normally for the first half one would predict Joker as the villain for Batman but the original commissioner of the caption series these are based on chose Scarecrow instead and Nightwing went to Joker.
The original caption had this element of disappointment from Joker for getting a sidekick gal instead of the Bat. I played that up for this take since I felt it made this one pretty unique from the others.
Joker is hard to write as always since he needs to be sort of funny. I never know how my sense of humor carries through these comics (not that its integral to this sort of thing). I did my best not to dip into 4th wall breaks which I felt weren't really Joker's deal. Instead sticking to lines about performance and comedy itself.
As always shading delayed on these. I'm hoping to have all the currently unshaded ones in this series posted up next month.

2025-10-02 03:03:51 +0000 UTCI'm glad you're still enjoying it, admittedly the back half is more difficult for me than the front given the more obscure characters. I'm sure for DC fans these are all very well-known figures but I'm definitely a comics-casual.

2025-10-01 08:08:39 +0000 UTCLove it as usual :) I like the injection of some more humor from The Joker than the original caption had, though I'm mostly happy with the general disappointment/frustration from Joker staying intact. I actually like Nightwing a lot but it's inevitable that Joker would be sad that he got the sidekick instead of the main prize. Great adaption as always!
