If the person was concerned about any contact from men, the castration would be more severe. But in other cases, it's mostly to prevent someone else impregnating the concubines . Also, I believe other factors come into play too. But that's simple enough.

Second was Haikyu with around 800,000. Additionally, this is the first anime made by this studio - however, it has a gigantic budget behind it as its a subsidery of Toho Animation which normally produces all the big stuff. (Like JJK, Frieren, Mushoku Tensei, etc.) (The studio is called Toho Animation Studio)

Its legal to sell one of your children in that era, especially to the palace. 2. With that being the case, even if she explains her situation, would the palace believe her? She might be a child bejng legally sold making up that story to get out of it. 3. The kidnappers ≠ the place she works. 4. So the 2 years thing means she was sold on a work term. Like she has a 2 year contract Now fun fact - mao means cat in Chinese. Hope you enjoy this show, its amazing. This is a hard show to explain stuff with as its all about the mysteries. So I feel like the only explanations should be about stuff to do with the era.
