The Color of Money (1986) FULL WATCH ALONG w/ Coby

Coby had to follow up The Hustler with its Martin Scorsese directed sequel also starring Tom Cruise!

Great reaction! I consider this and The Hustler to be two halves of one story, so for me there's no better or worse between the two. Fast Eddie finally learns that the only one he's been hustling has been himself -- character means playing it straight and giving your best. A tough lesson that took 25 years to learn, but better late than never. For more Paul Newman, I recommend: - Hud (1963) - Cool Hand Luke (1967) - Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid (1969) - The Sting (1973) - Slap Shot (1977) - The Verdict (1982) [perhaps Newman's last truly great performance, although I love him in The Color of Money as well] I think Newman is one of the key actors to serve as a bridge between Golden Age Hollywood and New Hollywood. I hope you enjoy exploring his career.

Love that you caught the fact that Eddie was doing with his life what his old partner, Charlie wanted for himself. Did you notice also that Eddie finally had “character” which Bert Gordon (George C. Scott) said he didn’t have in The Hustler. “…Fats has more character in one finger than you have in your whole skinny body.”

You must and I say you must watch "Cool Hand Luke" One of Paul Newman greatest movies.

Paul Newman won the Academy Award for Best Actor in The Color of Money. I like The Hustler better as a film. I was glad you watch that one first, it bring you back into his Fast Eddie character. Your reaction was great, but you seem to have learned fast how to hustle by your comments hahahaha

I was sure you we going to ask if the skinny guy was Iggy Pop but then you didn’t finish the question. Yes, you shouldn’t doubt yourself. And at the end when you said “I’m back!” Just before Paul Newman said it, I laughed because I knew you were going to be soooo happy you said the line first. Thanks for a great reaction, as per usual.
