Oregiaru Season 1 Episode 12 Reaction

Loved the conclusion to this arc! Hikigaya taking a social suicide is definitely something he would do, but I did not expect it to the degree this episode took it.

Anyway, you'll see my full thoughts throughout the reaction.

Also there's a specific discussion for you guys on Patreon during the opening, feel free to check that out as you wish! :)

Yup, I still have a lot to *attempt* to try and analyze as I finish up this season and head into season 2! Of course if I ever stray too far from understanding what's going on please correct me lol. I'm more than likely going to get a lot of details wrong because of how dense this show is in character writing and character development.

What this arc shows is that altho Hachiman may say so much about how he is a loner and anyone else's business has nothing to do with him, he does care. He's beginning to have an emotional connection to these people, especially Yukino and Yui. The fact he specifically is antagonising Sagami not just cos she isn't doing her job, but because her actions are negatively affecting Yukino shows he cares. He's a hypocrite. His antagonising actions motivated by a heroic desire to help someone contradict his cynical loner mentality. Which make for some juicy characterization and drama. Now getting into his whole self sacrifical actions and how he's hurting himself.. you need to question why does he do these things? Why does he consistently try to say it doesn't affect him even tho it clearly does. As Hayama said, why does he always stick to this method that always keeps him trapped in this status quo of being the loner ignored or despised by others?

It's a struggle XD but it's really fun. I love trying to dive deeper into the characters.

I think he's a great character, I wonder why anyone would give him hate. Realistically he tries to understand and see things from Hikigaya's perspective but the route about how they go about things is totally different. Which is why he seemingly agreed with Hikigaya he just didn't like how he went about it. I think Hayama is a great guy and a very deep character that we still don't fully know everything about.

Not gonna lie, knowing what's in those characters head while you struggle to decipher them is INCREDIBLY fun. Great reaction !

You're one of the few reactors I've seen that actually tries to understand Hayama's character, most reactors to this series give him a lot of unnecessary hate. I absolutely love how much you pay attention and try to understand everything that the characters say and do.
