Last Day In Cairo, Part 2 (Dairy)

Lunch Fit For Royalty

So, here we are, having lunch! It is amazing! It reminds me of other types of food, but then it is also unique. If you ever get a chance, you should try Egyption food!

Check the “Collections” page to see all of the storylines!

Okay… Let’s take a few steps down the path of “Where is AI headed?” for a minute.

Since I started my diary format, I’ve been using ChatGPT to write the alt accessibility descriptions for my posts. At first, I would put in the picture and say, “This is Ailana Geven. She is in <wherever>.”

Well, as the days passed, ChatGPT started knowing who was in the pictures without me saying so—especially Ailana and Sasha. While I was doing the photoshop work on today’s lunch picture, I said to ChatGPT, “let's try this! Draw a picture of Sasha and Ailana having a typical Egyptian lunch at a typical Egyptian Restaurant.”

This is what was created based on JUST that prompt, long before I asked for a caption for the first picture.

So based on what ChatGPT had learned over the course of our session (which goes back to my trip to New York City), it was able to create pictures that I think are remarkably familiar looking compared to the real versions of us (Ailana and Sasha).

And… do note that the hand has only four fingers and they are in a natural pose! Come on!

Where does all this go? Who knows!

I know that the time I’ve saved getting help with the alt accessibility descriptions is huge! I think we are on the cusp of something.

And I hope it is something good and amazing!

Well… time for us to head to the museum. See you there!

Egyptian Museum in Cairo

Here we are at the museum. Amazing things everywhere!

The Egyptian Museum in Cairo, also known as the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, is one of the most famous museums in Egypt. It houses an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including the treasures of Tutankhamun and other significant pharaonic art, making it a major attraction for both tourists and historians interested in ancient Egypt.

It is amazing. There is so much you can see here! We just spent a couple hours wandering through rooms filled with treasures that have to be seen to be believed! From golden masks to ancient scripts, each piece felt like stepping back in time.

This museum has to be the capstone of our trip. It pulls together so much of the history we have sampled and then adds to it with so much more information.

And… we have a lot more to see, so I’ll get back to it.

I’m planning on checking in, of course, before going to bed, so watch for that post!

Last Goodnight From Cairo

Goodnight, dear readers! This visit to Cairo has been a whirlwind of ancient wonders and meaningful moments.

We started our week at the majestic Great Pyramid, then strolled through the peaceful Al Dunan Park. The Great Sphinx took our breath away with its grandeur!

Beyond exploring, we joined USAID to support their drinking water improvement project—a cause close to my heart.

Today, we indulged in the rich flavors of Egyptian cuisine and wrapped up the day with awe-inspiring visits to The Egyptian Museum.

Tomorrow, Sasha and I say goodbye to Cairo and hello to Vancouver, BC!

We're excited for the adventures that await us and are keen to find ways to contribute to the local community. Stay tuned for more updates from the West Coast!

As for me, for now, I’m calling it a night. See you in the morning!
