When they discussed about how their long form improv podcast works, the way they improvise every narrative decision being a nat 1 or a nat 20, I realize that actually annoys me. Because when everyone is always just trying to make the biggest joke, nobody is invested in their character, and they aren't really rooting for their own characters to succeed. I think thats why I definitely prefer comedy actual play podcasts, to just comedy improv podcasts. The investment in their own characters, and the narrative is what it makes it fun for me to listen. Not to yuck anyone else's yum. I was just listening to them talk about it, and I had my own epiphany about why I like what I like.
