Pistol Follow Through

Here's a quick refresher video on follow through. For those of you who have seen this one before, think of your range habits. Do you have a strong follow through?

Remember, the focus of most training is not how fast you re-holster after a drill (which, to me, is kinda like someone demonstrating how fast they can close their pocket knife). Especially if you just engaged a target. I know that doesn't always look the coolest for social media or in the movies but sometimes it's not about what looks cool. Follow through is a good habit to develop.

Let me know what you think in the comments below.

*You are responsible for every round that leaves your barrel. Safe weapons handling is your responsibility.

Adhere to all firearms safety rules and range commands/protocols at your facility. For more info on safety, see https://www.nrablog.com/articles/2015/7/the-rules-of-nra-gun-safety/

Great video and tip, building those good habits every time!!!

Great video once again!

Thanks Shawn. The conscious becomes the subconscious. Every time content is released (or re-released), it gives me a focus point at the range. I’ve noticed a huge difference in my fundamentals just in the last year or so. A lot has become natural now which is good because I had to un-learn habits that I just did for no reason growing up shooting. Again, always appreciated!

Hope this helps. Good to know when you can catch yourself during training.

Shawn

Repeatable is the name of the game in these fundamentals.

Shawn

Thanks BillB. I hope that when revisiting these concepts will sink in deeper. The fundamentals aren't always the most flashy on camera but are the base for everything.

Shawn

Thanks Danny!

Have to follow through!

Shawn

Thanks Shawn, I was doing that same shit at the range the other day and had no idea why. Great tips when working on my fundamentals.

Nicholas Soper
