CQB Staircase Lesson
Added 2021-03-23 03:27:15 +0000 UTCHello Tier II and Tier III,
This one is going to open up some "what if's".
This video started with stairwells but progressed quickly.
Staircases are one of the most complicated obstacles in CQB. Hopefully this helps answer some of the questions. Hopefully this video also helps get across how much of a disadvantage you are at in single man CQB.
Please let me know if you have any questions in the comments below.

Shawn excellent content. I appreciate the insight and your focus on how complex this is. Especially for those of us who are learning to protect our own homes against threats.

2021-05-04 14:13:41 +0000 UTCAs a law enforcement officer, I can honestly say I’ve said “fuck it” and ran into a room while being exposed from other unknowns. I’ll think differently next time.

2021-04-02 02:25:42 +0000 UTCThanks Derek! Good to do the mental exercises when you naturally move through your place. It eventually becomes a brain game you play everywhere you go.

2021-03-30 17:05:33 +0000 UTCLots of solid advice. I hope I never have to clear a house, but since I work from home alone now, I find myself going through lots of scenarios. Like if I leave my office to take a leak, I’ll walk through how I would clear each room.

2021-03-30 02:15:39 +0000 UTCThis was an awesome video. For a home invasion scenario, you can use this as a template to go through your house and train how you would approach it from different rooms knowing how many of your family members are in the house and where they are located. I think it calls out the pitfalls but also enables you to calculate the risks you take using various approaches. I would think that in most cases in a home invasion, most people are faced with the "one person team" scenario. Using this video as training, you can simulate a home invasion and practice how you would go about clearing your house, knowing its layout and memorizing it in darkness, knowing where your family members are and where you might have weapons staged. This was very helpful. Thanks, Shawn.

2021-03-27 11:09:37 +0000 UTCAs complex as you've explaimed Shawn all the one man scenarios are and /could/would, etc., be. Hopefully you dont feel like a broken record. For me your laying the groundwork for laying out personal situations and mindset. If it feels redundant im sure that a shit fest lol. Every video gets the grape gears moving honestly. As always, thanks to yall for what you do. Only straight advice i follow only patreon i pay 4. 🤙

2021-03-24 20:38:48 +0000 UTCLove you & the lesson Shawn! Great man! YOU being frustrated really tells me just how difficult this can get. I think that staying calm, going as easy as adrenaline will allow, & working out of my mindset, will be the best that I can do. Thanks as always Shawn. *looks like you're busting it on the place*

2021-03-24 05:13:12 +0000 UTCSo a question/what if. In my home in particular, the stairwell goes down into the living room to the left and a wall to the right, with a door way to the dining room at the landing. The view to living room is cutoff by the second floor. (It’s almost identical to this video with the exception of limited visibility of the main area and no door to open on the right) Is it advantageous to get in an alternate position to try and clear as much of the living room as possible and then make dynamic entry into the dining room? Or is mobility a priority? Ideally I’m gonna call the cops and hold the 2nd floor as long as I can before trying to escape (thanks NJ). Also, Glover has a single man CQB video on the Fieldcraft Channel. He goes to a compressed position and moves the gun with his head movements as he puts it “like an Apache helicopter”. Is that a good tactic? What are the reasons you wouldn’t want to use that tactic? Thanks for everything Shawn and John, you guys are killing it.
