Two Point Slings

Hello Tier II and Tier III,

I hope all of you are well and out of the cold!

In this video I go over some philosophy on why I use a single point sling. Had a question a while back about two point slings for stability and wanted to cover why I choose single point over double.

If you didn't catch the single point video check it out here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/single-point-36587405

Let me know if you have any questions and we'll do some followup videos.

Cheers!

Dude! Marines use 2point because β€œwe” don’t typically have the luxury of a secondary weapon in the grunts. Hand-me-down rifles from the Seabees or SP. put some sand in that wound!! Love the content man, keep it up. Semper Fi!

Dave Bell

Single point must be a Navy thing. Even blue water security forces run single point. Always thought it was the norm until getting out and seeing everyone else running two point. Not sure if it's a training thing but two point just feels super awkward

Zak

I'll have to do a video on that.

Shawn

I’d like to see the fastec hardware used when climbing walls.

M

It's good being able to suck the gun up tight to you when moving, especially climbing. I'll have to do a video on that.

Shawn

Makes sense. I use 2 point on some other platforms for that reason.

Shawn

All about that freedom of movement for me.

Shawn

Will do πŸ‘ŠπŸ»

Shawn

If running like a bitch when getting shot at makes you an alive bitch, I think can live with that. 🀣

Paul Jankins

We use a 2 to 1. When on the gun run it as a single point, when off the gun go to 2 point. 2 point gets the gun out of my workspace better when having to do certain things like first aide or fixing something that needs to be done right now.

Raymond Ellis

HaHa, sometimes running like a bitch makes more sense than not. Especially to find cover. That was funny. Personal preferrance

Raymond Ellis

I like both, but the reason for the double point working for me is the weapons length. In California we have a minimum 31" on the carbine. The SPS just gets the muzzle too close to the dirt. The double just protects the rifle a little more.

Eric Liittschwager

Grew up with a double point on my hunting rifle for the exact reason you discuss on stability and getting slung in. In a tree stand, may not always have the tree to anchor on. And I’ve never had to move much for a deer, nor do they shoot back (had a bastard charge me once tho). Growing up like that set my mindset that way, and probably looked at single points for the carbine as something a bit tacticool. But definitely interesting on freedom of movement. May Amazon a cheapie to see what it feels like. And it’s annoyingly cold in Texas with idiots that can’t make an electrical grid work in the winter, even after going through this circus in 2011.

Demo please. Thank you.

Clifford Young

Thanks John! Phalanx Concealment is my preference. I also like G code.

Shawn

I think that comes down more to what you train with. They make some crazy designs these days, I'm sure lots of them work but they take time to learn.

Shawn

Great as always Shawn! Hope you & the little lady are staying warm too. I caught what you said in another vid about having the option of one or two for when climbing etc. Hey, what did you say were the 2 IWB holsters you recommended? One was your buddy & there was another one. I just wasted another $60 on good reviewed junk. Thanks

How much of a difference does it make to run a double-point sling and quickly swim out of it to essentially turn it into a single-point sling? I bought a 2 to 1 sling so I can have either but I'm trying to think through how practical it is while being in a gun fight and detaching point A and reattaching to point B if you need to climb something.
