Cross Eye Dominant Carbine Shooting
Added 2020-12-15 04:12:39 +0000 UTCHello Tier II and Tier III,
In this video I cover carbine shooting for those who are cross eye dominant. I am personally cross eye dominant.
New content in editing and we're out filming again this week. Lots of videos in the pipeline.
Merry Christmas!

I’m right handed but left eye dominant. I’ve had to teach myself how to shoot left handed proficiently.

2023-07-02 16:10:45 +0000 UTCAre you able to shoot both eyes open when using rifles right handed? I have to close my left eye otherwise the sight disappears from my vision.

2023-06-09 13:47:03 +0000 UTCIt was embarrassing as a kid being out with a group of men and a shotgun was kicking my ass because I was laying my face across the butt just trying to aim. Nobody ever explained this to me. This kept me away from rifles and shotguns for most of my life. I can get away with using my cross dominant eye when shooting a pellet gun or 22 but is very awkward. I recently started shooting rented handguns and I'm killin' the targets. I'll start using my right eye with rifles and keep using my left eye for handguns. I'll see what happens if I keep both eyes open with a shotgun. Thank you.

2022-08-21 23:33:32 +0000 UTCThere are a few things you can do but have to find what works best for you. Here's an older one where I cover cross eye dominant pistol shooting. https://www.patreon.com/posts/cross-eye-pistol-35308906 Hope it helps!

2021-02-09 04:42:29 +0000 UTCI've hit a wall and I'd like your advice, if you have a few moments. Several years ago, I had cataract surgery in my dominant eye. Due to the prosthetic lens, the vision in that eye is permanently fixed at about arm's length and, at the best of times, I'm almost legally blind in that eye. My question is simple. Should I focus on building and learning to manipulate the handgun with my off hand or is it just a matter of bumping the rear sight over to mitigate the shift from using my non-dominant eye? With my rifle, I worked on learning to use it left handed but I can't seem to develop the same competence or deftness when it comes to a handgun. Am I over thinking this and making a problem over a simple solution?

2021-01-09 08:32:10 +0000 UTCI am mixed dominant. However, at a young age my dad taught me to shoot both left and right. I practice with both now.

2021-01-08 02:44:34 +0000 UTCYour a freak show ? I shoot a pistal right handed with my right eye and shoot a rifle left handed with my left eye. Qualified in the military that way.

2021-01-02 08:40:36 +0000 UTCHappy new year brotha. I came across a rifle that had a curve to allow for a right hand , left eye shooter to effectively fire his rifle! I sent it to your vigilance email.

2020-12-29 05:40:27 +0000 UTCExcellent as always! I’m right handed with left eye dominance... I trained with a team guy (Jason P) who taught how to strengthen the weak side eye. It helped with the fatigue for sure. I tried lefty but the fluidity and accuracy was so much better using right hand I figured I’d work on strengthening my weak eye. That’s just my experience tho. Keep up the great work Team VE💪🏼

2020-12-19 05:34:20 +0000 UTCI'm the same (cross eye dominant) and to make matters worse my right eye is not perfect. I shoot pistol with both eyes open just fine. Rifle to your point you get eye fatigue. Such a PITA though. Any way, good to know there are other highly proficient left eye dominant shooters🤣
