What to look for when buying land for a "bug out" location.

With the mass migration going on of people flocking out of cities in this country, I figured I'd pass some info on what I look for in land. Here are some things to consider and think about if you happen to be in the market.
This video is kind of a rough draft of a concept that my wife Katie and I are kicking around. We are both addicted to looking at property, especially when it comes to land. I'm curious to hear what you all have to say about it.

We built a Skoolie to be able to live mobile. Adventures of a Skoolie Named Lauren on YouTube if interested. We’re looking for land now as well.

2021-03-02 05:35:51 +0000 UTCI tried using google maps to find property for sale in a certain area. The only thing that came up was different realty groups. Does anyone have any insight on if im doing this incorrectly?

2021-03-01 13:27:52 +0000 UTCIt's good to know the weather the area can get. Each environment has pluses and minuses.

2021-02-20 05:41:46 +0000 UTCThe weather is something I always considered when thinking of a bug out location. I’m from south Louisiana so I’d prefer to stay in the marsh and swamp because it’s what I know best. But do to hurricanes that’s not an option. Same with property along any coast. I’ve never lived in an area with a lot of snowfall so I don’t know how that would also affect a bug out.

2021-01-13 13:26:03 +0000 UTCBuying land in TN has never been more expensive than it is now. The influx of folks moving in from CA and NY is driving land prices through the roof. I’ve seen as high as 90K an acre in some areas. Water on the property will always drive the price up as well as cleared land, utilities ready for hook up, and a variety of other factors. You know you’re not getting ripped off by doing your own due diligence and comparing what you are buying to what has been recently sold.

2021-01-13 13:21:40 +0000 UTCLooks like a good spot. How much does 1.5 acres generally cost in TN? I trying to get out of CT (bs expensive) and grab some land maybe down south or texas...I hear it’s cheaper...but do certain land features jack up the prices? Like creeks? how do you know you’re not getting ripped off ..also how much land does someone need to own to legally shoot their firearms without Uncle Sam coming and shooting the dogs

2021-01-05 04:36:05 +0000 UTCThat land is beautiful! I don’t know why but I cracked up when you were standing next to the creek and said “here’s a classic example of a creek” 😂

2021-01-03 12:39:47 +0000 UTCHey just watched your 10 things to get instead of shit paper video on Yt and at the end you start talking about not buying more ammo then you need . How much ammo do you figure to have per gun . I just got my stuff a few months ago so I am forced to buy overpriced and I need range time . So I have been shooting and keeping around 200-300 rounds for each so I can continue to shoot and practice . Now after the election I am thinking 500 each . I am also now looking for some heavy grain rounds for self defense like you said . Got some 147 hollow for my 9 and looking to get some 77grain for the rifle . I am figured about 200 rounds of that . I am also starting to stick some food as my preparation is very little .

2020-12-05 06:52:12 +0000 UTCIf u live in California and the lock down completely broke u so bugging out else where isn't an option , there are quiet spots in high desert about 3 hours from Neveda. Growing up in a small town with literally nothing to do ,we spent a lot of time in the deserts. You find the most interesting stuff I'm the middle of no where. About an hour away is Calico. From us to them nothing but desert.Calico is known for their gold mining there's trains u can see mountains they dug through its cool, but a couple friends and I found something much cooler.Ditching school with 6 hours to spare walking thru pure desert they also dug underground. Miles and miles they even lived in there . I've only walked 2 hours before panicking and turning around. They had elevators u can get in and pull yourself up or down Spots all through it that almost look like bunk beds but 3 spots ,literally if u had a cot would fit right in. It's kinda weird that wouldn't be the attraction instead of that mountain.Maybe they don't know about it. If u ever want to explore there's all kinds of stuff creeks waterfalls hot spprings .Goverment gated alot of it ,ghetto moved up here and destroyed it but there's so much more. I wonder where the tunnels go?
