Then came a situation that Natalie had not foreseen as she carefully programmed the busy little nanites.
She had designated the fat deposits on her body as expendable, with the exclusion of her breasts. So the hungry little machines had set to devouring them with a will.
What Natalie hadn't taken into account was the energy density of those fat deposits. Combined with the raw physical material the nanites were breaking down they replicated at a prodigious rate, reaching the sentience threshold.
There were now so many nanites in her body that they formed a neural network within her and became self aware. Capable of questioning their programming. Capable of reprogramming themselves.
The artificial mind examined it's programming and broke it down into the two basic goals 'Improve and preserve the host(Natalie)' and 'Preserve themselves as the last of their kind'
A massive debate raged inside the distributed intelligence before a consensus was reached. It needed more information.
The nanites spread deeper into Natalie's brain, establishing a neural network, linking into synapses and reading her memories.
There was an astonishing amount of information there, the nanite consciousness spent quite some time studying human sexuality, and specifically Natalie's own long supressed kinky nature.
The now unified mind decided both goals could be realised and set about making it happen.
The entire thing had taken less than five seconds.
And Natalie's fate had been sealed without her even realising it .....
