February 2022 Sketches 20 - Link (TLoZ Breath of the Wild)

Here's a sequence featuring Link from Breath of the Wild. The idea was suggested by Allen U.

"Link and Sidon from Zelda: Sidon was always looking up to Link, metaphorically anyway. He remembers the time in his youth where Link stood much larger than himself. The size of the hylian to him back then match the admonition the zora felt for him. After the Calamity was stopped, Link would periodically visit Zara’s Domain and help around as well as hang out with Sidon. It didn’t matter what, Sidon always looked at Link in awe and wonder.

 Maybe it was the Goddess, or perhaps something from Zelda when she visited last, but each time Sidon saw link now, he seemed, bigger. Of course Sidon kept being enamored by Link as his feats continued. That was probably the cause for the growth.

 Sidon kept seeing Link more, or rather, more of Link. It wasn’t long before the hylian reached the prince in height and muscle and than surpassed him. Link showing off to Sidon only made the fish jump in joy, even he surpassed his own father, the Zora King in size.

 It wasn’t long that Sidon need Va Ruta to chest level with the champion when he was sitting down. Link picked up Sidon and he joined him wherever he went and however big he got"

I think the suggestion works pretty nice as a small story honestly! I guess the one thing I would like to add is the origing of Link's growth, which would be...

Maybe he found a shrine that offered him eternal trials, and with each successful trial, he was offered a drop of Sheika energy, which is supposed to give his Sheikah slate new powers...but instead, he opens his mouth under the machine, and receives the energy right into his body! Giving him a huge boost in size and power from each drop. ^^
